8 Life Changing Choices That Contribute to Personal Success

"The history of free men is never written by chance, but by their choice." Dwight D. Eisenhower
The direction of our lives is determined by the choices we make every day. As a consequence of our daily choices they will "change the course of your life". Choices accumulate and add up to our ultimate destiny. Here are eight choices you can make that will create for you a life of abundance and prosperity in all areas of your life. These choices will contribute to personal success along with the ability to "achieve financial freedom".

1. Choose to grow personally.

This sounds simple but many people only wish to grow personally. They never CHOOSE to grow by taking action, such as actually exercising, saving more money, investing in their education, or reading personal development books. This would also be a good time to get involved in a home-based business because that industry is all about personal development which contributes to personal success. Therefore, you will want to make a decision today to be a person who is on the never-ending journey of personal growth.

2. Choose to always treat others right.

We come across all sorts of people and many of them will treat us poorly. However, we can still choose to treat them with integrity although their behavior towards us is less than cordial. When they lie; we can choose to tell the truth. When they cheat; we choose to play by the rules. We may get cheated at times by these people, but in the long run, we will win. It’s important to remember that the energy we give out is always coming back around to us. "What goes around—comes around". More importantly we will always have a clear conscience and; therefore, not carry around any negative feeling such as guilt because we treated someone badly.

3. Choose to break a bad habit.

Start with one bad habit and only focus on one at a time. If you do not know what your bad habits are your friends and family can always tell you. Then spend every effort you can to break that habit. Some bad habits could be that you decide to work on getting out of debt, start an exercise program, stay away from sweets, learn how to use self-control and not interrupt somebody when they’re speaking. Or you might want to work on a character trait such as learning to be more patient everyday. It is important that you use some kind of behavior modification program that can help you. Use your power to choose to break a bad habit and always replace it with a new positive one.

4. Choose to work smarter. Many people feel like their lives are out of balance and they don’t have enough time to do everything they want to. This could be someone that has a job or someone that has a home-based business. First of all you need to be aware of the time that you might be wasting by doing activities that are not creating results. Therefore, learning some good time management techniques, setting up a schedule, and sticking to your schedule will make your life flow better and easier. You want to create a life that is peaceful and not chaotic. Getting your work done by diligently working in the time you have allocated will work extraordinarily well, so, that you can focus on doing the things that are meaningful for you and your family.

5. Choose to see your work as a way of purpose.

When you live your life by helping, motivating, and inspiring other people not only will your life be more meaningful; but it will be way to make more money. If you put your heart and your efforts into helping others-- then the financial part of it takes care of itself. Spend your time helping others grow and your finances will grow with it.

6. Choose to live a balanced life.

When you learn to live a balanced life spiritually, emotionally and physically; you will feel better when all three are balanced. Spend some time cultivating your spirituality, becoming emotionally healthy, and physically fit. However, there are times when realistically, you life will not be balanced. For example: If you are writing a book and have a deadline; you may have to invest more time into this area temporarily.

7. Choose to sow more than you reap.

There are many takers in this world, but our lives will be better as we become givers and serve the world as givers. You want to learn to become generous with yourself and learn to give of your time, your money, and, of course, your love. However, it is also important that you set boundaries with people and literally not give away so much that there is nothing left for yourself. We must always take care of ourselves before we can take care of anybody else.

8. Choose to spend time with your family, especially if you have children.

It is important to be there for dinner because your family is the most important group of people you will ever belong to. Make a decision today to grow in your relationship with your parents, siblings, spouse, and children. This is one choice you will never regret.

Anytime you change a negative habit and replace it with a more constructive behavior it is going to affect everybody in your circle of friends and family. When I was a school counselor I used to tell my students that our behavior affects other people. Therefore, HOW we are "being" is so important. This is something we always have a choice in. We must always take personal responsibility for our behavior and choices. All of these choices contribute to experiencing "personal success" and with personal success come more abundance and prosperity.

Five Steps to Your Personal Comeback

You’ve decided that you want to be more joyous, but don’t know what consistent actions to take to create this bliss. You didn’t lose touch with yourself overnight, so plan on taking the time needed to learn what makes you happy. Here are 5 steps to take to create more contentment in your life and set the stage for your personal comeback:

1. Take the time to figure out what is most important to you, personally. Although God and family are usually at the top of this list, this question is posed to get you thinking about what you need in order to be at your best. For me, I need to be centered. I have to have a balanced life! What one thing do you absolutely need to make your life more enjoyable? Focus on attaining this one item every day by taking small steps to craft your ideal existence.

2. Know that what you have to say is valuable and important. Make a habit of contributing in any situation that you find yourself, whether it’s a classroom setting, the PTA, your work environment, or in social situations. The more you speak up, the more you become confident in your voice. And you'll begin to look for opportunities to be able to express your opinion. Overall, this will do wonders in boosting your self-esteem.

3. Function in your life as if you’re not a victim, because you’re not. Things sometimes happen in our lives that are beyond our control. We all have been victims in our lives, one time or another. The problem lies in us thinking that we’re always a victim in situations. We all choose our paths and circumstances. Don’t make the mistake of blaming others for what you’ve chosen. By placing the blame squarely on our own shoulders, we are truly empowering ourselves and getting back in the driver’s seat. If you find yourself blaming others when things go awry, say to yourself, “I am not a victim. I have a choice as to how I approach life.”

4. Choose happiness…no matter what! Situations may not be perfect, as life seldom is. But our happiness lies in our approach to life. Awake each day saying, “I am thankful and appreciative. I choose to be happy regardless of what happens today!”

5. Arrest self-sabotaging thoughts in their tracks. If you find yourself thinking self-defeating thoughts, do what exercise guru Richard Simmons suggests. Cancel every negative thought with two positice thoughts. In time, you’ll seldom have self-destructive feelings.

If you find that you’re having problems moving forward, then you may need additional help. At this point, you may want to consider hiring a life coach or joining/organizing a mastermind group. Another great option is to use meditation CDs to help in your personal growth.

By consistently practicing the above steps, you should accelerate your movement toward contentment. Once you feel content, you’ll want to look the part. Remember funky mamas are happy mamas and present their best selves!

Self Improvement Through Subliminal Music

Music has always been known to be soothing to the soul and have some meditative properties to the world in general. But that is just one side of music. Music can evoke a whole range of emotions and this has been well documented in the study of music and its effects on the mind. For example, classic music has been well known to reduce the levels of stress, relax and soothe the mind, improving the mood of the listener and even evoke better sleep patterns. Mothers use classical music on their babies, even when they are still in the womb because they firmly believe that it will inspire their child and even bring about better learning capacities. Hard hitting sounds like garage, drum n bass and even house have been known to increase the levels of adrenalin and even bring about a trance like state through its repetitive staccato beats and drums.

Experts on sound have even claimed that this sort of music can bring about similar properties as drug induced trance like states in people if full concentration is given. Students have also claimed that listening to easy music has helped them to study better and they find that they retain information much better. There was a study not so recently that tried to link the effects of music with learning, as they saw that people were able to remember even complicated lyrics over tens of years.

The correlation of memory retainment and music was investigated thoroughly and it was shown that when paired with a likeable beat that appealed to the auditory senses, people seemed to be able to remember information much more easily. This has exploded an industry of early childhood education with music, heralded by many major institutions all over the world and the results have been quite fantastic. This brings us to the subject of music and subliminal learning.

Science and medicine has come together and released a hit to the brain - literally. Subliminal messages have always been always known to have an effect on the subconscious mind, going past natural awareness to place messages in the mind that can help to affect behaviour and mindset and transform attitudes within individuals. This therapeutic pathological technology has been coupled with music, as subliminal messaged need to be embedded in perceivable stimuli that is both soothing and distracting.

Once the awareness is concentrating on a single medium of music, the messages can be slipped in straight to the subconscious. This has allowed a whole realm of possibilities for self improvement to open up and because of this ease of use, anyone and everyone can have access to this technology which is easily affordable both offline and online.

Now you can have access to some serious self improvement, kick bad habits, reprogramme yourself and give yourself a boost in the mind department - all with subliminal music. Self improvement through this medium is more than just a possibility - it is a reality for all of us who are looking for a way to improve ourselves, mind, body and soul.

Why You Are Your Worst Enemy in Your Personal Development Growth

If you are like most everyone in society-you have likely failed multiple times during the course of your life. Let's face it, to err is human everyone fails in life (many times). Just look at the news and you will read about the thousands of failures that are happening every day; from sex scandals, to thousands of lawsuits, on-going wars, corporate greed, cheating etc.

Just take a look at the global economic collapse. Who' s to blame you ask, everyone from wall street to main street USA and main street of other developed and developing nation states, and (I might add..) everywhere in between.

Contrary to what you've probably been told-Failure is endemic in human societies regardless of race, regardless of demographics , regardless of economic entitlements or education. Failure transcends every part of human society and touches every fabric of mankind around the globe in which we live.

Learn From Your Mistakes:

This is probably the biggest and most important area that you can use to improve upon in your daily personal and professional life. If you continue doing the same thing every day or every week and continue getting the same results that result in your continuing to fail, in a particular aspect of your life-guess what? Your system is not working!

You need to reverse course and change your plan, system or your thought process as to why you continue to fail in this particular area of your life. Only you can answer that question regarding what needs to be changed and how you go about in trying to fix it.

Be Accountable:

This goes without saying but too many of your failures in life are to some extent of not taking full responsibility or accountability for your actions. If you are responsible for your failure, own up to it-face it head on with humility and resolve not go down that path road again. Don't blame others when you alone are responsible fully for your actions in your life.

Be Teachable:

I believe as a direct result from sin in our world and in Mankind specifically, hat the world is in such a state of rebellion, problems and failures of global proportions which are tied to the sinful state of mankind. Don't worry this is not a theological debate on my biblical world views.

The point here is that there is a common theme here that resolves that you be able to listen and to be teachable. Think about it for a moment, you're in an argument or fight with your spouse or friend, or child- who's right in the argument? Think about your attitude and the message your attitude is to sending to others around you. There are two sides to every fight or dispute, so the natural tendency for people assert themselves as being but you can't always be right.

It's only natural due to the sinful-nature of man, the self centered, self serving ego maniacs that people are to assert themselves as being correct and right during every single argumentative situation..BUT we can't always be right and correct in every situation. My point here is you have to overcome your self-serving nature to be teachable, if not you will continue to alienate those around you and will never grow in this area of your personal and professional development of being teachable. You must be able to learn from your mistakes and failures and be willing to consider others' viewpoints and assessment of the situation other than your own. Maybe yours is not the best solution or position in this situation.

Be Aware of Your Prideful Nature:

People are very prideful individuals, and as I stated earlier, people always want to be right, even when they know they are inherently incorrect and wrong! People yourself myself included are prideful characters of creation. We always want to come out smelling like a rose and believe that it's never our fault, or your fault or problem-it's always someone's problem or failure. Unless you realize your weakness in this area you will not be able to grow in your personal life and will continue to make the same mistakes and failures.

Be Willing to be Humble:

Do you know what the hardest two words to say is? I'm sorry... These two seemingly insignificant words to most people-are diamonds in rough if you ever want to develop into the person that you want to become. Your prideful nature is robbing you of the joys in life unless you can overcome your prideful nature and learn to be humble.

It's easy being mad upset and the world for "wronging you" for not doing what you wanted when you wanted it and how it was to be done. Wars have been fought because of man's self centered and ego oriented , self-serving nature. But true wisdom and growth comes to those who are able to harness their egos and who are willing and able to allow themselves to be humble.

This is where real growth is learned, and experienced if you are allow yourself to learn to be humble and learn from the wisdom from this virtue.

Become a better Listener-Talk Less:

Next time you are in an argument pay special attention to how much you talk compared to the person you are fighting or arguing with next time. Everyone of us has an agenda, we want our needs, our wants, our desires to be heard and acted upon at everyone elses' expense. It's your way or the highway...

You must be able to think, and reflect upon your words and actions, and their impact upon others around you both directly and indirectly, and how your words and actions may be undermining your personal development efforts which may be doomed for yet another failure setback in your life unless you are willing to change...If you look at all the successful people in life, you will come to realize that these successful people exemplify many of the same themes that I'm addressing regarding personal development in this article. Challenge yourself to be able to step out of your comfort zone to address areas of your personal and professional development that you need to improve. Your future personal and professional success depends on it.

How to Accomplish Personal Development Goals Easily

Everyone needs a goal to achieve -- a golden carrot -- in order to truly succeed. Goals are what draw us ahead when times are tough. They are what help us overcome resistance and problems. The most important of these are personal development goals.
Here's the easy part: setting personal development goals for yourself. But the hard part is actually achieving those goals. One reason lots of people fail to reach their goals is that they made the mistake of setting blurry goals rather than crystal clear ones. Other people have a tendency to set a bunch of goals all at once. Still others choose target dates that are fuzzy or too far away.
The best way to set your personal development goals is to clearly state what you want to achieve. For example, it is great if you want to lose weight, but you have to choose a clear target at the beginning. Pick how much weight you want to lose, and write down your goal. Choose an exact number of kilos or pounds, and make it an achievable goal, not a fantasy. Don't set yourself up for failure. Say you want to lose ten pounds. Write that down, and create a simple exercise and dieting plan that will propel you down the path to that goal.
Now, take on your challenge by setting parameters for your goal that are clear. With your diet and exercise plans laid out, and a clear number to aim for, set yourself a time limit. It could be ten pounds in the next two months, for example. Which is a little more than a pound per week: pretty achievable. You now have a sharp target, with a manageable time frame, and you will be able to sharply focus on your way to achieving your goal.
That is the first step. By establishing your personal development goals, you are well on the road to accomplishing them.
However, remember not to set your personal development goals so lofty that they are unattainable. If you do that, and you don't succeed in reaching them, you may feel you are a "failure." These negative feelings can affect your self-esteem, and your broader life outlook. So set attainable goals you can reach.
And when you work hard and reach your goal, don't forget to give yourself a reward! A reward makes your focus and commitment worth something else besides the great accomplishment itself. You don't have to spend a bunch of money or eat a giant cheesecake that will start you gaining weight again, for example. Why not take a rewarding walk in a park, have a glass of good wine, or take yourself out to a matinee movie? Reward yourself for sticking to your plan and meeting your goal.
After you have attained your first personal development goal, choose another one. It feels good, right? So it will feel good the next time, too. Use achievable targets and time frames, and set clear goals. You may find that just accomplishing small goals, one after the other, over several years, has led you to a point in your life a few years from now that would have been unrecognizable to you in your past life. One step at a time can take you almost anywhere you want in life.
